A small studio, four chairs, unhurried days

Hair that still looks right eight weeks later

Cloud Loom is a four-chair hair studio built around long consultations and cuts that grow out the way they were drawn. We work with curls, coils, fine hair and grown-out colour, and we would rather book you a longer slot than rush the one you have.

Tuesday to Saturday Consultation included Patch tests two days ahead

Studio notes

How the week runs

Tuesday to Friday we open late morning and keep the last cut of the day for long appointments. Saturdays are fully booked colour days, and Thursday evenings are reserved for consultations and colour corrections.

Hair we work with

Curls and coils cut dry, fine hair that needs weight left in, thick hair that needs weight taken out, and colour that has been grown out, boxed over or lightened too far. Say so when you book and we will plan the time.

Every appointment starts the same way

Fifteen minutes with dry hair, no gown yet, talking about how you actually wear it on a Tuesday morning. We agree the plan and the price before anything is cut or mixed.

Service & price index

Prices start from the figures below and are confirmed in your consultation, because length, density and colour history all change the time needed. Every colour service includes the finishing blow-dry.

Cutting

Studio cut

Consultation, shampoo, cut and a rough-dry finish. Includes a note on how it was cut so the next visit matches.

60 minfrom 48

Curl & coil cut

Cut dry, curl by curl, then washed and diffused so you leave seeing the shape you will get at home.

90 minfrom 68

Fringe or shape-up

Between-visit tidy for fringes and necklines. Free in the four weeks after a studio cut.

20 minfrom 14

First cut, under twelve

A short, calm appointment at a quiet time of day, with a parent in the chair alongside if that helps.

30 minfrom 22

Colour

Root tint

Regrowth coverage matched to your existing tone, with a gloss through the ends to even it out.

105 minfrom 72

Half-head highlights

Lightening through the top sections and around the face. Good for a first step into a lighter look.

150 minfrom 118

Full-head highlights or balayage

Lightening through the full head, toned to the finish we agreed, with a bond treatment built in.

210 minfrom 165

Gloss & tone refresh

Shine and tone correction for colour that has gone brassy or flat. Often all a four-week-old colour needs.

45 minfrom 38

Colour correction

Booked only after a consultation, sometimes across two or three sittings. Quoted in writing before we start.

Treatments

Bond repair course

In-studio strengthening for hair that has been lightened repeatedly, with a home routine written out for you.

40 minfrom 34

Scalp reset

Clarifying wash and a slow scalp massage for build-up, flaking or itch. Add it to any cut or colour.

30 minfrom 26

Moisture soak

Steam-assisted conditioning for curls, coils and lengths that have gone dry through the ends.

35 minfrom 29

Styling & extensions

Blow-dry

Smooth, soft or set with rollers. Tell us which when you book so we allow the right time.

45 minfrom 32

Occasion styling

Pinned or dressed styling, held with no visible hardware. Early-morning slots on Saturdays.

75 minfrom 58

Tape or weft extensions

Fitted after a consultation and a colour match, with a maintenance visit booked at the same time.

Figures are starting prices in the studio's local currency. Long or very dense hair may need a longer slot, which we agree before your appointment rather than at the till.

Choosing your colour appointment

Toning at the basin — part of every colour service

Three quarters of the questions we get are really one question: which appointment should I book? These are the three we book most, with who each one suits and how long to keep free.

Lane one

Your first colour here

Who it suits
Anyone new to the studio, or returning after more than a year away from salon colour.
What is included
A consultation with dry hair, a strand test, the colour service itself and a patch test booked two days earlier.
Time to allow
Two to three and a half hours depending on the service we agree.
Lane two

Keeping colour you already have

Who it suits
Regrowth of two to four centimetres, or ends that have turned warm since your last visit.
What is included
A root tint or half-head of highlights, plus a gloss to pull the old and new colour together.
Time to allow
Around two hours, or forty-five minutes if a gloss alone will do it.
Lane three

A real change of colour

Who it suits
Going several shades lighter, moving away from box colour, or undoing a colour that did not work.
What is included
A consultation first, then a written plan that may run across two or three sittings with bond treatment at each.
Time to allow
Book the free consultation; we will tell you honestly what the full plan needs before you commit.

The studio & the chairs

Interior of a quiet hair studio with four styling chairs facing tall mirrors and a plant-filled window

Four chairs, one basin room, and a window we keep uncovered because colour should be checked in daylight. There is no music competing with conversation and no second client waiting in your chair. If you would rather not talk at all, say so on arrival — it is a perfectly normal request here.

The studio is on one level with a step-free entrance, and we keep the first and last appointment of each day quieter for anyone who finds a busy salon difficult.

Each chair takes different work. You can request someone when you book, or let us place you with whoever fits the service best.

Marisol Vane

Founder · Colour correction

Takes the long colour plans: box colour grown out, over-lightened ends, and anyone who has been told their goal is impossible. Works Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Ode Fairweather

Senior stylist · Curls & coils

Cuts curl patterns dry and teaches the finish at the mirror afterwards. Also the chair to ask for short, sharp shapes and clipper work.

Pell Ashford

Stylist · Fine hair & blow-dry

Builds weight back into fine hair and sets a blow-dry that survives a commute. Keeps the early Saturday occasion slots.

Juno Rask

Colour technician · Lightening

Highlights, balayage and toning, plus every bond treatment that runs alongside them. Works Wednesday to Saturday.

Request an appointment

Tell us roughly what you are after and when you can come in. We will reply with the times that genuinely fit the service, rather than squeezing it into the first free gap.

We only use this to confirm your appointment.

What happens next

  1. We read your request and work out how long the service actually needs.
  2. You get two or three times by email, with the starting price for that service written out.
  3. If colour is involved, we book your patch test for two days before the appointment.
  4. Nothing is held until you confirm, and changing your mind at that point costs nothing.

Before you book

The questions we are asked most often, answered the way we would answer them in the chair.

Do I really need a patch test?
Yes, for any service that puts colour on your hair, and we need it at least forty-eight hours beforehand. It takes two minutes, and we will ask for a fresh one if more than six months have passed or if you have reacted to anything since.
Should I bring reference photos?
Please do, and bring the ones you dislike as well. Photos tell us about tone and brightness; they cannot tell us what your hair will do, so we will talk through which parts of the picture are actually reachable from where your hair is now.
I have been using box colour. Can you work with that?
Often yes, but it changes the plan. Box colour builds up unevenly and can sit stubbornly in the ends, so we start with a consultation and a strand test, then quote a plan that may run over more than one sitting instead of promising it in a single afternoon.
How often should I come back?
Cuts hold their shape for six to eight weeks, longer on mid-length hair and shorter on a precise bob or clipper shape. Root tints sit at four to six weeks, highlights at eight to twelve, and a gloss in between will stretch any of those. We write the interval on your notes.
Can you cut children's hair?
Yes, for under-twelves, in a short appointment booked at a quiet point in the day. A parent stays in the room, and if it turns into a day where nothing is getting cut, we stop and rebook without charging.
What if I am running late or need to cancel?
Let us know as early as you can. Up to fifteen minutes late we will usually still fit you in, though we may simplify the finish. Beyond that we will rebook you, because the chair after yours belongs to someone else. Cancellations more than a day ahead cost nothing.
Do I have to buy products afterwards?
No. We will tell you what your hair needs and what you can safely skip, and we are happy to name things you can buy anywhere rather than only what sits on our shelf.
